What search looks through

Search matches any part of a word, and capital letters do not matter. It covers five kinds of records.

  1. Clients: name, contact, email, phone, status, and notes.
  2. Projects: name, status, next milestone, and client name.
  3. Invoices: invoice number, status, notes, line item descriptions, and client name.
  4. Proposals: title, introduction, scope of work, status, and client name.
  5. Time entries: task description, project name, and client name.

Open a result

Results appear in one list, in this order: clients, projects, invoices, proposals, then time entries. Each row shows what kind of record it is.

  1. Use the ↑ and ↓ arrow keys to move through results and press Enter to open one, or click a result.
  2. A client opens its client detail page.
  3. A project opens the project.
  4. An invoice, proposal, or time entry opens for editing. Viewers see a read-only invoice preview instead.
  5. If nothing matches, search shows No results for your query. Try a shorter word or the client name.

Search tips

A few habits make search faster.

  1. Type the client name to find all of their projects, invoices, and proposals at once.
  2. Type an invoice number to jump straight to that invoice.
  3. Type a saved status such as draft or accepted to list matching invoices and proposals. To see overdue invoices, use the Overdue filter on the Invoices screen.

Notes

Search covers the workspace you are signed in to. It does not search tasks, files, portals, reports, or expenses yet. Use the filters on those screens instead.

Invoice amounts are not searchable. Search by client name or invoice number instead.
