Files

Share files with clients.

Files are attached to a client and stored in private storage. They appear in the client detail page and, when portal file access is enabled, on that client portal.

Upload a file

Files are uploaded from the Shared Files section of a client detail page. Each upload is linked to that client.

  1. Open a client and find the Shared Files section.
  2. Click Upload File and choose one or more files.
  3. Wait for the upload to finish before closing the page.
  4. Confirm the file appears in the Shared Files list.

Supported files and limits

Uploads accept common document and image types and have a per-file size limit.

  1. Upload PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, text, or image files.
  2. Keep each file at or below 15 MB.
  3. Split or compress larger files before uploading.

Download and remove files

Every file row has a download control, and files can be removed from the client record.

  1. Hover a file row and use the download control to retrieve it.
  2. Use the delete control to remove a file from the client.
  3. Enable Shared Files in the client portal permissions to let the client see these files.

Notes

Files are scoped to a client, not to an individual project, so a file uploaded for a client is the same file shown across that client work.
