Proposals

Write and send a proposal.

Use proposals to set out scope, deliverables, timeline, payment terms, and a value, then track them from Draft through Accepted or Declined.

Updated May 2026

01

Create the proposal

A proposal is tied to a client and carries a title, value, and the body fields clients read before deciding.

  1. Open the Proposals workspace and start a new proposal.
  2. Select the client and enter a title and value.
  3. Fill in the introduction, scope of work, deliverables, timeline, and payment terms.
  4. Save the proposal as a Draft.

02

Send and track status

Proposals move through Draft, Sent, Accepted, and Declined. Changing status to Sent makes the proposal available on the client portal.

  1. Set the proposal status to Sent once it is ready for the client.
  2. Use the status filter to view proposals by stage.
  3. Watch for Accepted or Declined updates from the client portal.
  4. Use the preview to see the proposal as the client will read it.

03

Client review on the portal

When the client portal is active, the client opens the proposal and either signs to accept or declines it.

  1. Confirm the client has portal access for proposals.
  2. Let the client open the proposal from their portal link.
  3. The client reviews the full proposal, then signs to accept or declines.
  4. Check that the proposal status updates to Accepted or Declined in the Proposals workspace.

04

Convert an accepted proposal

Only an Accepted proposal can be turned into a project, carrying its title and value across as the project name and budget.

  1. Open an Accepted proposal in the Proposals workspace.
  2. Use the convert action to create a project from it.
  3. Confirm the project name, budget, and deadline.
  4. Save the project to begin delivery.

Notes

Converting to a project is restricted to proposals with status Accepted. Attempting it on a Draft, Sent, or Declined proposal is blocked with a message.
